UPDATE: BBQ Results for May 17th & 18th

We showed up and of course it was raining, however like real troopers we forged ahead and put up our tents. Wouldn't you know it, no more rain after we put up the tents!  After firing up the pit, adding the perfect seasoning on the brisket, and making sure the temperature was just right the meat was put on the pit. The 4 briskets looked like winners for sure!
Beer Time!

Early Saturday morning, Darrell fired up the pit about 5:30. Then Ron, Vince, and Don showed up for early morning support. No bean turn in so Vince ran errands while Ron prepared the chickens and Don prepared the ribs. Again, just like the brisket the chicken and ribs looked fantastic and ready for the pit.
Beer Time!

Time to get ready for the chicken turn in. The chicken was removed and looked like someone had cooked it in the desert of Arizona. Oh well, we still turned it in. Who knows, maybe the chicken tasters wouldn't notice.
Beer Time!

The Ribs were removed from the pit and looked pretty good. They should at least make the final table. On to the turn in!
Beer Time!

The briskets were pulled from the pit so they could cool down. After pulling off the foil they looked pretty good. The slicing went just great and we knew we had a winner! Again, the long walk from the back 40 to turn in.
Beer Time!

All said and done we didn't win the money but we drank plenty of beer. Our friend next door, David Slusher, won first place chicken for a whopping $800.00. We are open at this point for chicken cookin' spies. David should make the next cook in at the Colorado County Fair in June.

Our left over briskets were confiscated by Linn and went to AIM. I tried to hoard the ribs but Linn beat me to the punch.  All and all the cook was a great success and we enjoyed the weekend.

For those of you who did not make the cook, perhaps you can come out the next time. Check out our website for dates & times of coming events.
